Joining Liberty Wines was the perfect alignment of my professional aspirations and personal passion for the world of wine. Liberty Wines is truly dedicated to excellence in every aspect of its operations. Our pursuit of “Best Wines, Best Service, Best People” is the driving force behind our success. The company’s dedication to offering the right wines at the right prices, exceptional service and a team of passionate professionals is widely recognised and respected in the wine industry.
Since joining the business in February 2023, it was clear to me the ambition everyone collectively has for growing the business, however maintaining the values that have been fundamental to the success it has achieved to date. The opportunities I have had for growth in terms of career and understanding the product has been beyond anything I could expect.
I joined as part of the Customer Services team which is where I was shown the Liberty Wines ropes. A year and a bit later, a position came up in National Accounts and, with support from both teams, I moved into the Sales Support role. Since starting, I have had four different roles in four years. The opportunity for progression and the support that’s available internally is immense. If you’re passionate about something at Liberty Wines, you can help make it happen. This doesn’t just end with work, we have netball and football teams, bake off competitions, charity lunches, Pilates, language classes, the list goes on.
I am proud to work in a company that is constantly striving to improve its customer experience, well-being at work, education of people, sustainability and finally the quality of its portfolio. Liberty Wines is known for being close to its customers but also its producers. That is especially true being part of the Champagne team, as we represent both our Maisons Champenoises and Liberty Wines.
I still remember my interview at Liberty Wines when the office and warehouse were in Vauxhall's New Covent Garden Market. It was a 20-minute walk from the tube station, and when I arrived, there was no sign, and I thought to myself, "Where, and what is Liberty Wines?" Here I am, still in Liberty Wines 15 years later and what a ride has been!! We were a team of roughly 40 when I started, and we are just over 250 today! We built our new offices and opened a bond warehouse with over 6 million bottle capacity. I think what made (and makes) Liberty Wines unique is the family feel that has been implanted into the company's DNA and after 15 years here, it's still solid and lively. At Liberty Wines, you work very hard, but we also have fun on the road to achieve our goals!
Our teams receive 25 days of holiday in addition to bank holidays, increasing up to 28 days with service. And if that’s not enough, we can even buy extra days! We also benefit from 18 weeks fully paid maternity leave or 4 weeks fully paid paternity leave, alongside other types of leave such as fully paid volunteering leave for charities and fundraising activities.
We offer fully paid travel insurance for both business and personal use, with the option to include family at no additional cost. We also provide a Cycle to Work scheme for those keen cyclists, a Season Ticket Loan scheme to ease commuting costs, and a salary sacrifice electric car leasing scheme.
Our team enjoys a 30% staff discount on our infamous portfolio. We also provide a Benefits platform, featuring exclusive discounts on groceries, getaways, health, wellbeing, and interest-free tech. And it doesn’t stop there! We also host an extremely beneficial salary sacrifice scheme for those dreaded nursery costs, and all employees are able to join the Pension scheme with up to 5% matching contributions.
Outside our benefits platform that offers a range of discounts on gym membership and health retail, all employees can access our Employee Assistance Programme, providing complimentary confidential support services for financial wellbeing, mental wellbeing, and physical wellbeing. Employees can also access a smart dental app for advice, appointments, and cosmetic discounts.
